Harvey Kalbus Obituary

Harvey A. Kalbus Jr.

Harvey A. Kalbus Jr. passed away peacefully on July 27, 2021, surrounded by all his loved ones. Harvey was born on October 1, 1934, the first son of Harvey A. Kalbus Sr. and Edna (Christensen) Kalbus.

Harvey grew up, worked and had many adventures on the family farm in the township of Vinland, along with his two younger brothers, Richard "Dick" Kalbus and Robert "Bob" Kalbus. At the age of 23 he was drafted into the army where he served two years and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

While enlisted in the army, he was encouraged by his cousin June Graper to be a pen pal with her friend Doris M. Roebke. They fell in love and were married on October 21, 1960. They spent the next 59 years together until Doris's passing in December of 2018.

Harvey was a hard worker and committed to providing for his family. He worked many years as a laborer for Dewy Precast, until the time of its closure and then for C.R. Meyer until his retirement.

Harvey enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours fishing with his 'Sweeter' on Lake Winnebago and deer hunting up at the 'Shanty.' After his retirement, Harvey and Doris made the big move to Coloma Wisconsin where they resided for the remainder of their lives. They enjoyed going to all their grandchildren's sporting events and loved spending as much time as they could with all their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Harvey is survived by his three children; Mark (Judy) Kalbus, Theresa (Alan) Lee and Ann Kalbus. His grandchildren; Jesse Kalbus, Morgan Kelly, Mason (Vic) Lee, Conner Lee, Aubrey (Chris) Conklin, Allie (Gary) Penrose and Aaron (Jayde) Daniels. His great-grandchildren; Tegan, Makayla, Miya, Taitum, Ty and Wyllow.

He is further survived by his brothers; Richard (Connie) Kalbus, Robert (Donna) Kalbus, along with many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 5, 2021 at Poklasny Funeral Home (870 W. South Park Ave Oshkosh WI) at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home on Thursday.

I am sorry to hear that Harvey passed away. I remember him since I was a very little girl and I remember him always smiling ad laughing. I hope he gets to run into my Dad up in Heaven, I know they'll have a lot to talk about and will probably go fishing.
