Harvey Gene Meyer, 87, of Medford, passed away peacefully at 4:45 p.m. on November 9, 2025.
Born and raised in Medford, Harvey graduated from Medford High School in 1957 and went on to complete four years of schooling in the electrician trade, laying the foundation for a lifetime of skilled, dependable work. An extremely handy man, Harvey could fix nearly anything. He owned and operated a television repair shop, working on the old tube-style sets long before modern electronics took hold. He was equally passionate about automobiles-a skill he learned from his father-and ensured that no family member ever needed to take a car to a shop. If something broke, Dad or Grandpa simply figured it out.
Harvey's talents extended naturally into the world of electronics and mechanical tinkering. His problem-solving nature and willingness to lend a hand were gifts he shared generously with those around him.
An avid outdoorsman, Harvey found joy in hunting, fishing, and camping, spending countless peaceful hours in the woods and on the water. He also devoted many years as a Boy Scout leader.
Harvey now joins in eternal life his beloved wife of 60 years, Janice, who preceded him in death; his parents, Albert and Iola (Westrich) Meyer; his siblings, Ronnie, Betty, and Patty; and his loyal fur buddy, Miley.
He is survived by his children, Bruce, Michelle (Al), and Scott (Elaine); his brother Jerry; grandchildren Arica, Rachel, Craig, Trey, Chelsea, and Noah; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his treasured fur companion, Kia.
Harvey will be laid to rest next to his wife Janice in St. Mary Cemetery in Halloway. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
