Harvey Morowitz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goldman Funeral Group - Buffalo Grove Chapel on May 2, 2025.
Harvey Sheldon Morowitz, of Buffalo Grove, passed away on April 29th, at the age of 83. His presence brought light, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He was the beloved husband for 44 years of Patricia Morowitz, nee Lavin; a loving father of Darcy (Matthew Aklan) Morowitz and Lauren Graves; adored GOATed Papa of Timothy, Evan, and Dylan; devoted son of the late Morton and the late Ann Morowitz; dear brother of Dr. William (Debbie) Morowitz and Linda (Jim ) Horwitz; cherished uncle and friend to many.
Born on March 31, 1942, in Chicago, Harvey lived a life full of warmth, humor, and kindness. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh, even in the most difficult moments, and his quick wit and playful spirit were matched only by his deep compassion and generosity. Harvey's light filled any room he entered, and people were naturally drawn to him. Professionally, Harvey was a Hospital Administrator at Illinois Masonic Medical Center for over 40 years, creating lifelong relationships.
As a husband, Harvey was unwaveringly loving and supportive, sharing a bond with Pat that was a love story for the ages. Together, they created a home filled with joy and love, spending many a night dancing with their girls in the family room, road trips to visit family and often helping the girls complete their past due homework.
As a father, he was everything a child could hope for-patient, wise, and always there with a joke, a story, or a shoulder to lean on. Darcy and Lauren will forever carry his lessons, humor, and boundless love in their hearts. When they decided they wanted to play soccer, he read every book he could find and spent countless hours practicing with the girls and cheering them on at every game.
As a papa, friend and uncle, Harvey was loyal, dependable, and the life of every gathering. His friends and family knew they could always count on him for a laugh, a helping hand, or a listening ear. One nephew said that just by spending time with him, he was lucky enough to take on parts of Harvey's dazzling personality.
Though he is no longer with us in person, Harvey's spirit will live on in the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he leaves behind.
Visitation Wednesday, May 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Chapel service Thursday, May 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Buffalo Grove Chapel, under the direction of the Goldman Funeral Group, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 Block N. of Lake Cook Rd.). The chapel service will be livestreamed at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Interment Randhill Cemetery. Darcy (and family)-- My deepest condolences for a wonderful man. I think that the following note that I received from his many-year employee, Loretta Magno, says it all: "I will forever remember him with great memories. Brilliant Boss! Very caring, generous in sharing his business expertise & funny as well, etc." May his memory be a blessing. Paul Ringel
