Harvey E. STEBBINS, 81, of Stannards, NY, died Saturday, July 12, 2025 in his home. 

Born February 2, 1944, in Mills, PA, he was the son of Leland H. and Ethel M. Downey Stebbins. On December 7, 1962, in Whitesville, he married Susan A. Schrader, who survives. 

A 1962 graduate of Whitesville Central School, he served honorably with the US Navy from 1962 – 1968. He was a mechanic on the USS Argonaut and the USS Clamagore. 

Harvey was employed by Dresser-Rand in Wellsville from 1988 till his retirement in 2010. He was also a dairy farmer in Whitesville for many years. Harvey was a member of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702, Frank B. Church VFW Post #2530, Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 601 in Wellsville, and USS Clamagore Veterans Association. 

Surviving besides his wife, Sue, are: a son, Dennis (Kris) Stebbins of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Marshall (Rebecca) Stebbins, Matthew (Amber) Stebbins, Kody (Ashley) Stebbins, and Bridgette (Robert) Romero; 11 great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Kyle, Medaleigha, Saphira, Patrick, Jr., Kathleen, Riley, Robert, Jr., Jaclyn, Eli, and Jaxson; a brother, Wayne (Donna) Stebbins of Macedon; a sister, Linda (Ron) Whitesell of Andover; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Randall E. “Randy” Stebbins, on March 31, 2024; and two brothers, Harold E. Stebbins and Ronald Downey. 

A graveside will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2025 in Whitesville Rural Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by member of the Wellsville Legion Post 702 Honor Guard. 

Memorials may be made to Wellsville Moose, Wellsville Legion, or Wellsville VFW.
