Harvey Lee Thomas, a cherished son, brother, father, and friend was born on October 15, 1966, in Delight, Arkansas, to Jack Thomas and Rosetta Richardson. Harvey embraced life with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for the outdoors.
He was a 1985 graduate of Delight High School and attended Henderson State University. Harvey valued his connections with friends and family above all else. His laughter was like magic, drawing others to him and creating lasting relationships wherever he went. He epitomized the true spirit of camaraderie and loyalty.
Harvey’s infectious energy and quick wit made him the life of the party and the joker in the family, always ready to bring a smile to those around him.
His love for Marlon, Johnny Ray, and Justin, knew no bounds, and he took pride in raising them into fine young men. A dedicated fork-lift driver at Cooper Tires, he worked hard and made many friends and acquaintances. He enjoyed watching professional basketball, playing cards and dominoes.
Harvey surrendered after a valiant fight and passed from this life on Monday, April 8, 2025, at his home in Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosetta Richardson Thomas; and his father, Jack Thomas; three brothers, Eddie Dean Richardson, Charles Edward Jones and Audrey Thomas; one sister, Loretta Richardson; one sister-in-law, Bunnie Dixon; and one brother-in-law, Willie Harvey.
He leaves his companion, Shana Gentry of Arkadelphia; his bonus sons, Marlon “Tren” Stuart of Texarkana, TX, Johnny Ray Grundy (Armenia) of Bentonville, AR and Justin Stuart (Ellana) of Magnolia, AR; their mother, Evelyn Thomas of Hope, AR and fourteen grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers Bill Ray (Undra) Johnson of Columbia, SC, James Aaron (Beverly) Meeks of Delight, AR, Howard Gregory Dixon of Gurdon, AR, and Harry James Thomas of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Vera Harvey of Flint, MI; and Laura (Michael) Whitaker of Joan, AR; and a sister-in-law, Trina Jones of Okolona, AR; several nieces, nephews, cousins, his best friends, Tony Cox of Delight, AR and Johnny D’Jean of Hockley, TX and numerous other friends.
As we bid farewell to a beloved soul who touched the hearts of so many, let us remember Harvey for his laughter, and his love.
