HATTIE MAE MALLORY was born on September 20, 1973, to the late Willie Lee Mallory and James Lee Mallory, Sr. She entered eternal rest on September 16, 2025, at her home in Hilton Head, South Carolina. From an early age, Hattie embraced her faith as a member of St. Peter A. M. E. Church, remaining steadfast in her spiritual journey throughout her life. Educated in the public schools of Estill, South Carolina, she began her professional career in Hilton Head as a dedicated cashier before discovering her true vocation as a substitute teacher with the Beaufort County school district. This was a role she cherished and approached with devotion each day.

Hattie lived life with joy and enthusiasm. She delighted in long, daily conversations with her sisters, Christine and Juel, and treasured quiet moments watching her favorite soap operas. She loved baking and cooking for her family, shopping for bargains, cheering for her beloved Dallas Cowboys, and simply being surrounded by those she loved. Above all, Hattie's greatest pride and joy were her children, Erin Lamonica Mallory and Devonte Lamar DeVore, to whom she devoted her heart and life. In her final days, they lovingly returned the care she had always shown them.

Hattie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harry Davis Mallory; and sister, Jacqueline Marie Mallory-Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted children, Erin Lamonica Mallory and Devonte Lamar DeVore of Hilton Head; longtime companion and best friend, Eric DeVore; sisters, Juel Mallory (Sammie) of Luray, SC, Jennie Mitchell (Michael) of Charlotte, NC, Christine Brown (Herman) of Allendale, SC, and Ann Bailey (Jerry) of Charleston, SC; brothers, James Mallory, Jr., of Ridgeland, SC, Willie Mallory (Elease) of Luray, SC, Charles Mallory (Shanise) of Varnville, SC, Ulyses Mallory of Sycamore, SC, and Rufus Mallory of Luray, SC; three beloved aunts, Mary Green and Margaret Cohen, both of Estill, SC, and Daisy Fields of Paterson, NJ; one uncle, Arthur Green of Estill, SC; special nieces and nephews, Christian, Dauntae, Sameia, Shadae, Ariana, Tyrese, and Ty'riana; devoted friends, Dora, Ann, Sue, Ernest, Ty, Heather, Ralph, and Linnea; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family, friends, co-workers, and her dedicated medical team.

Hattie Mae Mallory's life was a radiant testament to love, family, and faith. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." – Revelation 21:4
