I am confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from this body, and to be present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)

My life was beautiful, for as long as it lasted, but this journey of my life has come to an end. Please find comfort in knowing that I have no regrets whatsoever because I had a fun and adventurous life. Some things in life are impossible for mankind to fully understand. My life on Earth was brief, but don't prolong it with unnecessary grief. This was the plan God had for me, so family and friends, God has set me free. I don't have to worry about the troubles of this world anymore. I have gone on to be with those loved ones who have gone before me.

On May 7, 1957, an adventurous baby boy who they named Robert Earl was added to the family of the late Joe Brayboy, Sr., and Vernetta Burgess Brayboy Alford in Lake City, South Carolina. He received his education in the Florence County School District 3, Lake City, South Carolina.

Robert Earl Brayboy was united in holy matrimony with Cara Elaine Brown on May 22, 1998, in Lake City, South Carolina. Their union was blessed with three children: Kendrick Brown, Robin Brayboy Gladden, and Roderick Brayboy. He enjoyed hanging with the guys and detailing cars. He was employed by Marshall's Marine as a Marine detailer for over twenty years.

Although he fought to remain with us, God in his wise providence saw fit to call Robert Earl home to rest on September 14, 2025, in Florence, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Brayboy, Sr.; grandparents, Prince and Susie Brayboy, and Jack and Lizzie Burgess; sister, Jennie Lynn Brayboy Cooper; brother, Joe Brayboy, Jr., and grandson, Bryson Gladden.

He leaves to cherish his memories and continue his legacy: a loving wife, Cara Brown of Lake City, SC; a wonderful daughter, Robin (Andre) Gladden of Columbia, SC; sons, Roderick Brayboy and Kendrick Brown, both of Lake City, SC; mother, Vernetta Burgress Brayboy Alford of Lake City, SC; sisters, Joann (Kenneth) McKnight of Cades, SC, Patricia (Charles) Collins of Camden, SC, and Annie Brayboy and Nettie Fulmore, both of Lake City, SC and Linda (James) Chlander of Katy, TX; brother, Tommy Brayboy, of Lake City, SC, Joseph (Beverly) Singletary, and Timothy Singletary; mother-in-law, Barbara Brown; brothers-in-law, Mose (Angel) Brown, Darren (Latonya) Brown of Columbus, GA, Dwayne (Carissa) Brown of Florence, SC; sisters-in-law, Sheila (Micheal) Glenn of Florence, SC, Rachel Brown and Christina Mumford, both of Lake City, SC; a special granddaughter who was raised in the home, Kendriyana Brown; several loving grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
