Mr. Haywood Strickland Hullender

Haywood Strickland Hullender, 91, of Columbia, passed away February 11, 2011. The visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Monday, February 14, 2011, from 12:30 to 1:30pm, followed by service. Haywood was born on November 3, 1919, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, to Martin and Fannie Hullender. He married Mildred King on February 14, 1941. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He became an ordained minister subsequent to retiring from Cities Service Oil Company. Haywood is survived by his wife, six children: H. S. Hullender Jr. (Linda) of Dallas, Texas, Jeff Hullender (Constance), of North Carolina, Suzanne Hullender, Jo Fretwell, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Vicki Craine (Bill) of Hawaii, and Jean Thompson (Coy) of Highland, Illinois; two sisters: Mariana Survis (Jim) of Canada, and Barbara Gauldin (Bobbie) of Rochester, New York; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
