Mrs. Hazel Frost Anderson, age 88, passed away early Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at her residence with her family by her side. She was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County. Mrs. Anderson and her late husband, W.R. Anderson and their children were active members of Olive Branch Baptist Church before moving to Statesboro in the late 80’s where they became longtime members of Statesboro First Baptist Church. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker for many years and was a skilled seamstress making the clothes for their four children. In her later years she worked at Willingway Hospital as a ward secretary. Mrs. Anderson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Elmer Frost and Mamie Lou Croft Frost, her husband, W.R. Anderson.; her son, Ronnie Anderson; four brothers, Elmer Frost, Julian Frost, Jerry Frost, and Gene Frost; one sister, SaraLou Shuman; and her beloved dog Bella who was a source of joy and companionship for many years.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Gwen Anderson Logan of Statesboro, Ga., Karen (Bland) Burroughs of Clayton, Ga. one son and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy (DeeDee) Anderson of Bloomingdale, Ga. and Jackie Anderson of Statesboro, Ga.; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine Frost Williamson of Statesboro.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Deal Funeral Directors.
The funeral service will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Deal Funeral Directors with Pete Wall officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Davis, Troy Davis, Joshua Eason, Greg Frost, Brian Lambert, Keith McCarthy, Shawn Pelham, and Jon Terry.
Burial will follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Statesboro First Baptist Church, Bethany Hospice, or to Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Deal Funeral Directors of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
