John August Daube, age 77, Proud United States Navy Vietnam Veteran passed away at home March 3, 2026 due to the complications of Agent Orange. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Alice, his brother Michael Daube, and his daughter Kim Stanton.

John is survived by his loving daughter Kristina Staudt and her husband Robert. Grandchildren, Alexandra, Kyra, Joseph, Victoria, Arianna and Minuette. Proud Great-Grandfather of Jaxson and Magnolia. Brother of Jane, Mary, and Barb, and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

John will be remembered for his love of golf, and for serving and greeting at his church. He was a loyal member of the Grandparents Club at Stilson Elementary School.

John was a former Post Commander of American Legion Post 770 in Trumansburg, New York, before moving to Bulloch County and joining Post 90. John was a charter member of Sons of the American Legion Dexter Allen Squadron 90. He loved his children, his friends, and his fellow veterans. John was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran who truly believed in giving back to his community.  He devoted countless hours of community service at a local elementary school, through his church, and through the many programs of the American Legion. John was also a familiar face at our weekly Bingo, where he enjoyed greeting and talking with everyone as they came in to get their bingo cards.

Services are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date.
