Hazel Bryant Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Midlothian Funeral Home on Dec. 22, 2023.
Hazel LaVerne Bryant, a devoted caregiver and beloved soul, was born on May 29, 1934, in Waxahachie. She peacefully departed on December 19, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was the daughter of William Alva Sharp and Burla Lowery Sharp, and she spent her upbringing in Waxahachie. Hazel attended and graduated from Waxahachie High School, cultivating her roots in her hometown.
Her life's work was in caring for others, and she retired as a dedicated Child Care Giver. Hazel found solace and joy in her membership with the Cowboy Church of Ellis County.
Among her passions were watching Westerns, sewing, and cherishing moments with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. LaVerne had a magnetic laugh, an affinity for humor, and a talent for spinning captivating stories that brought smiles to all who knew her.
She was widowed from her husband, Roy L Bryant, in 2021. Hazel leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her sons, Jerry Wortman (wife Vicky), Gene Wortman (wife Reba), and daughters Ava Cook (husband Dale), Ronnie Bryant (wife Becky), along with a host of cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even a great-great-grandchild.
In her final days, Hazel expressed deep gratitude to her sons Jerry and Ronnie, and her daughter-in-law Becky, for their unwavering care and support.
The memory of LaVerne's laughter and joy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
To celebrate LaVerne's life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 11-12 at Midlothian Funeral Home. A service will follow in the Chapel at noon. Hazel will be laid to rest at Midlothian Cemetery following the service.
