Hazel Vannan Demsky, 78, of Bogart, died on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Born in Elkton, MD, and raised in Delaware, Hazel was the daughter of William Robinson, Sr. and Thelma Whitlock Robinson. Hazel met her future husband, Christopher Demsky, while he was stationed at Dover Air Force Base. Three years later, they began a fruitful and loving marriage that lasted fifty-two years. After their marriage, Hazel and Christopher moved to Michigan before settling in Oconee County, GA in 1978. Hazel worked as a supervisor at Target for 14 years and then as the primary receptionist at Athens Dodge Chrysler Jeep for twenty-one years. Hazel was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family fiercely. She was a beautiful and amazing woman who will be deeply missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings: William Robinson, Jr., Harriet Brooks, Edward Robinson, John Robinson, Billy Robinson, and Judy Robinson.

Hazel is survived by her beloved husband, Christopher Demsky; children: Stephanie Bradley, Karen Simpson, Pamela Blankenship, Christen Geier, Hadley Geier, and Colin Geier; 8 siblings: Wayne Everett, Tommy Robinson, Mike Robinson, Belle Natali, Lynn Price, Mary Voshell, Dorothy Baynard, and Susan Gray; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 29 at Oconee Hill Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Friday evening at Lord and Stephens, West Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA at ASPCA.org/">ASPCA.org.
