Mrs. Hazel ‘Elaine’ Scott Hall, 75, of Bobby Brown Park Road, Elberton, wife of 42 years to the late Donald Julian Hall, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Pruitt Health at Spring Valley, where she had been a resident since suffering a stroke in January.
Born in Abbeville, SC on October 1, 1949, Elaine and her twin brother Gene completed the family of Harvey Jordan Scott and Lillian Elizabeth Hall Scott. Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Martha Scott, Sara Lee Rice, James Andrew “Scotty” Scott, Joyce Carolyn Scott Miller, and Harvey Eugene “Gene” Scott.
Elaine was a 1967 graduate of Elbert County High School and furthered her education at Clemson University. She is most remembered from her work at Ingles in Elberton where she retired as bakery manager. A lifelong member of Woodlawn Methodist Church, Elaine was a member of the church’s friendship circle and enjoyed participating in church activities as long as her health permitted. She was a founding member of the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department.
In Elaine’s free time, she enjoyed travelling. Her happy place was anywhere with salt and sand, and she particularly looked forward to trips to Myrtle Beach. Affectionately known as “Mama Laine”, she had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats; however, her greatest love was her family.
Surviving are her children: Jennifer Hall Ward and her husband Mike and Jordan Chandler Hall, all of Elberton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A time of visitation celebrating Elaine’s life will be held on Sunday, November 24, from 2:00-4:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Burial will be private in the Woodlawn Methodist Church Cemetery.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to Elbert County Humane Society, PO Box 267, Elberton, GA 30635.
