Breaux Bridge - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Hazel Millien Francis, who left this world peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Breaux Bridge. Born on January 12, 1938, in New Orleans, Hazel graced the lives of many with her spirit, wisdom, and love.
Hazel's independence was her hallmark; she walked her path with strength and determination. A dedicated caregiver of the elderly, she poured her heart into nurturing those around her, always prioritizing the needs of others. Her laughter and kindness echoed in the hearts she touched.
An artist at heart, Hazel found solace in nature, cultivating a beautiful sanctuary filled with flowers and plants. Her love for painting and quilting blossomed into a lifelong passion that allowed her to express her creativity and share beauty with the world. Each brushstroke and quilted fabric told a story, a testament to her vibrant spirit.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Francis and Jeannie Jones (Randy); sons, William Francis and Christopher Francis (Christy); grandchildren, Todd Mire, Cody Mire, Morgan Francis, Mark Francis, Ched David Francis, Kayla Francis, Gavin Francis and Gage Barton; and special nieces, Kim Dupuis, Rita Dupuis and Ruby Dupuis.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Francis; daughters, Nona Francis and Sherry Francis; son-in-law, Charles Chatham; father, Joachim Millien; mother, Alta Morale; and numerous brothers and sisters.
