Mrs. Hazel Goins Hunter, age 99, of Westfield, passed away on Sunday December 28, 2025 at SECU Hospice Center in Yadkinville. Mrs. Hunter was born in Stokes County on March 19, 1926, to the late Simon Peter “Sam” Goins and Susie Helen Montgomery Goins. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great- grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory is daughters, Kathy Hunter, Annete Slate, Gail Reavis (Matthew), Becky Robertson (Jeffrey), Sylvia Sands; sons, Earl Hunter, Dean Hunter (Louanne), Roger Hunter (Wanda); 19 grandchildren; Numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Wall. In addition to her parents Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Hunter; sons, Sammy and Johnny Hunter; daughter, Laura Kader; sisters, Shirley Rogers and Shelby Parker; brothers, S.A. Goins and Floyd Goins. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 2:00pm at Friendly Chapel Church in Pilot Mountain with service conduced by Rev. D.C. Collins. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30pm until the time for the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
