Hazel Ennis Lee, 94, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at her residence. She was a native of Johnston County, NC, and the wife of the late Claude Westbrook (C.W.) Lee, Jr. Hazel was a 1949 graduate of Benson High School in Benson, NC, where she served as salutatorian and senior class secretary.

Hazel married C.W. in 1949, which was the beginning of a life filled with church, family, and service to others. Hazel and C.W. settled in Alamance County in 1957 and were members of Grove Park Baptist Church, Burlington, and First Baptist Church of Mebane. She served both churches faithfully in the children's and adult ministries. After raising four daughters and supporting her husband's dream of opening a business, she volunteered at Meals on Wheels, American Red Cross, and Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Hazel is survived by her daughters, Debbie Lee Weathers (Ron) of Wesley Chapel, NC, Tammy Lee Sasser (Louie) of Durham, NC and Kim Lee Vance (Chris) of Mebane, NC. "Nana" was adored by her grandchildren, Lee Norris (Jamey), Zak Norris, Kate Weathers Corp (Andrew), Tate Sasser (Sabrina), Justin Vance (Kristen), Bennett Sasser Zollicoffer (Rawls), Ben Weathers (Madison), and Emily Vance Jones (Cameron). Eleven great grandchildren include Pierce Bouwman, Elliott Bouwman, Westbrook Sasser, Nathaniel Weathers, Murray Sasser, Maverick Weathers, Hudson Sasser, Jace Vance, Claire Jones, Evelyn Jones, and Caroline Zollicoffer.

In addition to her husband, Hazel was pre-deceased by her daughter, Terry Lee Norris, sisters, Iowa Ennis McGee and Alice Ennis Stancil, and brother, Tom Ennis.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Mebane on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception at The White House on Washington, 7920 E. Washington Street, Mebane. A private graveside service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington at a later date.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, friends make contributions to First Baptist Church of Mebane, 301 S. Third Street Mebane, NC 27302 or Duke HomeCare & Hospice, Office of Development, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704.
