Hazel McClane, 67, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 20, 1957, in Winslow, Indiana, the daughter of Arvle and Mary Wade. She was married to Hank McClane who preceded her in death in August of 2023.
Hazel was employed at Wabash General Hospital as head of housekeeping until she retired. She really enjoyed cleaning and was a member of the National Housekeepers Association. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching western movies, playing guitar and singing hymns. She also liked singing karaoke, dancing and playing pool. Some of Hazel's favorite times were spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
Hazel leaves behind her daughters, Stacey Wade of Vincennes, Indiana, and Valerie Schrader of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Ashley Harms, Jaxon Schrader, Phoenix Martin; sisters, Carlon Maxey, Wanda Byrd; brother, Fred Dewayne Wade; several nieces and nephews.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sara Beth Cano; brothers, Arvle Wade Jr., Paul Turner Wade, Henry Rodger Wade, Billy Gene Wade; sisters Judith Wade Stiles, and Carrie Harrison.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
