Our Mom passed away after several years of health issues. She died peacefully holding our Dad's hand. Mom was a force to be reckoned with. She turned every head in every room with her beauty and her magnetic personality. She didn't know a stranger and called everybody "honey." People were drawn to her because she was kind and loving and had a contagious laugh.
She was "Mom" to many during her years as the school nurse at Simpson College. We would stop by her office between classes and often have to wait in line. She gained the nickname of Bunny when she was in nursing school as her fellow students thought Hazel was too formal for her and she had a bunny-like nose. Mom loved caring for a home, was a fantastic cook, gardener, animal lover and truly an Energizer Bunny.
If you loved our Mom, take a moment to put extra feed in the bird feeder, smell flowers on your daily walk and pet every dog and cat you see.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Vintage Hills Memory Care, Suncrest Hospice, and especially to the staff of Westview Care Center, for giving us the extra time with our mom! Their loving and incredible care was invaluable in giving us these extra months.
