Hazel Marie Reece, age 93, of Alpharetta, went to be with her Lord on December 14, 2022. Some called her Mama or Nanny, and others called her Mama Hazel. If you knew her, she was one of the most caring and sweetest ladies. She didn’t drive but never missed church. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Hazel touched so many people and probably babysat everyone in North Georgia at some point (LOL). She planted her seeds on this earth and left behind a great legacy, and if you know, you know about them famous “Mama Hazel biscuits!” She lived a great, long, blessed life with us and will forever be missed, but not forgotten. Rest in Peace sweet Angel. Rejoice in the name of Jesus with your family and Our Papa. You are so deeply missed as we celebrate your life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy “Lawrence” Reece; daughter, Yvonne Reece Cotton; brothers, Sylvester Bryant, Linton Bryant, Truman Bryant, Hugh Dorsey (Honkie) Bryant; sisters, Alice Bryant Reece, Earnesteen (Teen) Bryant Cantrell, and Elizabeth Bryant Thomason.
She is survived by her children, Ken (Shelia) Reece, Ricky (Janet) Reece, Rita (Emory) Frady, and Daren (Kelly) Reece; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; caregivers, Marvetta Mulligan and Agape Hospice.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Sutton, Rev. Robert Chapman, and Rev. Scott Collett officiating. The interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, and again from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
