Heath James Marti, 52, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away at Mercy Hospital on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Heath was born in Waukon, IA, on September 10, 1972. As a young child, he was adventurous, curious, and had the best imagination. A little daredevil which continued into his teenage years. He took an interest in BMX freestyle and became so good at it that he performed at the Five Seasons Center and had his own quarter pipe at his home. He also enjoyed wrenching on cars, especially his 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger. After graduating high school, he attended Last Days Ministries College in Texas. Part of that school included a mission outreach in Russia. Heath was also enlisted in the National Guard. Heath learned the construction trade from his father, which remained his profession for many years. He was best known for his humor and quick wit. Heath was especially fond of his dog, Bob.
Heath is survived by a special friend, Anna; his children, including three daughters, Alissa (Kayla), Taylor, Victoria (with their late mother, Angela), and two sons Colton and Lucas (with their mother, Danielle); four grandchildren, Aiden, Amelia, Lila and Angelyn; parents, James and Krista Marti; sister, Jessica (Chris), and brother, Seth (Corissa); seven nieces and nephews; and five great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Angela, and his sister, Heather Jean.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Falcon Civic Center, 137 4th St North, Central City, IA 52214. Friends and family are invited to join in fellowship starting at 11 a.m., followed by a short service and lunch.
