Heath Post Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Abbey Cremation Service - Rocky Hill on Mar. 13, 2026.
Heath Post, 58, of New London, passed away on Oct. 15, 2025 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. Heath was born on May 23, 1967 to Franklin Post and Doris (Vevarous) Kenyon in New London, CT.

Heath attended Robert E. Fitch Senior High School, and went on to work various jobs throughout his life. He was a "jack of all trades" and worked at Wyman Gordon, Electric Boat, a local antique shop. He also worked in construction, roofing, and was skilled in interior house painting. He always was ready to share some laughs with his friends who knew him as "Postman" or "Posty."

Growing up he played baseball for Groton little league and was a lifelong sports fan. He loved cheering on the Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins. He could recall play-by-play details from all of his favorite games. He also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, playing cards, and trying his luck with scratch off tickets.

Heath is survived by his father Franklin Post Sr of Groton; his daughter, Felicia (Kenneth) Wildes and two grandchildren of Lisbon; his brothers Franklin Post Jr of Anthony, FL, Gregory (Denise) Post of Pawcatuck, and Justin Kenyon of Gales Ferry; his sisters Brenda (Grayson) Killebrew of Carthage, NC and Jody (Peter) Kenyon Oddo of Norwich; and seventeen nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Doris Kenyon; his grandmother, Elizabeth Vevarous, and his grandparents Harold and Florence Post. Though he struggled with various health problems in recent years, he chose to keep them private. He leaves behind numerous friends and family that will miss his quick wit, sarcastic humor, and countless memories they created with him.
