Heather M. (Moore) Adams (formerly Skorik), age 43, beloved wife of Kyler E. Adams, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday.
She was born in Brevard, NC, the daughter of James H. and Sandra J. (Davis) Moore, and lived in Bedford before recently settling in Billerica.
Heather proudly served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Specialist (SPC), and most recently worked as a Contract Specialist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Exceptionally driven and endlessly curious, she earned two associates degrees, three graduate certificates, a bachelor's degree, and two master's degrees. She was a proud and active member of several veteran communities, including Frost Call, an organization she had been part of for many years and cared deeply about.
But above all her accomplishments, being a mother came first-and she was the very best kind: present, patient, protective, and endlessly devoted. She loved her children fiercely-her own and her step-children-and saw it as her greatest joy and purpose to guide them, support them, and show them what strength, resilience, and love looks like in action.
Heather was a marksman with a confidence and precision that inspired everyone around her-especially the children, who she made sure understood that strength and skill belonged to them too. She had a joke for every occasion, a competitive streak in every board game, and a tender habit of leaving stores with tiny keepsakes for the people she loved. Small things made her so happy, and she found joy in giving that happiness to others.
She loved spending evenings with her family-cooking, coloring, talking about everyone's day, or staying up late for "just one more round" of a game. She was always ready to listen, always ready to learn, and always working to become a better version of what many already considered the perfect woman. Her determination and fierceness showed the children in her life exactly what people are capable of.
Besides her husband and her parents, she is survived by her children Benjamin, Nadia, and Nathaniel Skorik, all of Billerica; her step-children Jayden, Lyla, and Makayla Adams, also of Billerica; her sisters Michelle, Christina, Joy, and Crystal. She leaves behind many loving coworkers, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 11/26, at Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica, from 9:00–10:00 AM, followed by a Prayer Service at 10:00 AM and Graveside Prayers at 10:30 AM at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to two organizations Heather valued deeply: Frost Call, www.frostcall.org, an organization she had been part of for many years and cared deeply about. We Defy Foundation, www.wedefyfoundation.org, which she had recently discovered and felt a strong connection to.
