Heather Marie Brod, 36 of Smiths Grove succumbed to her injuries from an accident on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The Warren County native was employed as a social worker and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. She served in the U S Navy. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Glenna Kaye Brod and her maternal grandfather, Kenny Hegel.
Her survivors include her father, Donald Brod (Tammy); her mother, Michele McKinney (John); son, Zaine Shepherd; daughter, Payton Shepherd; maternal grandmother, Betty Hegel; her brother, Andrew Brod; one niece, Isabella Brod; two cousins, Garrett Elrod (Taylor) and Haley Carter (Logan); one aunt, Melinda Elrod (Greg)
There will be a memorial service at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at Oakland Baptist Church with visitation from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. The family will honor her wishes for cremation. Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel are in charge of the cremation. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to American Liver Foundation, P O Box 399, West Orange, NJ 07052
