Heather Dancer, a loving wife, mother, daughter, and cherished friend to many, passed away on Christmas night, December 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, healing, and profound spiritual wisdom.

Born on April 9, 1977, in Fredericksburg, VA, Heather was the daughter of the late Helen Cavin Dancer and the late Howard Dancer.

Heather devoted her life to helping and healing others. She worked as an HIV/AIDS educator and a special needs counselor, consistently advocating for understanding, dignity, and care. Her calling extended far beyond traditional roles -- she was a Reiki Master and teacher, a professional card reader, an Angelic Life Coach, a spiritual healer and teacher, a Feng Shui practitioner, and a holistic health practitioner. For many years, she owned a small shop. In her spare time, she was able to practice many of her talents there.

Heather was certified in crystal healing, chakra work, aromatherapy, and space clearing, using these gifts to support emotional, physical, and spiritual healing. Those who knew Heather experienced her guiding light intuition, empathy, and endless generosity.

Heather had a fondness for meaningful and beautiful things. She loved adopting antique dolls, collecting old photographs and other antique treasures, and was an avid book collector, always finding quiet magic in everyday objects.

In recent years, Heather poured her heart into creative projects, including writing a book about her life, developing a podcast with a close high school friend, and creating art that reflected her inner world and spiritual journey.

Above all, Heather treasured her family. She was a devoted presence and a lifelong student, whose compassion, insight, and warmth brought comfort to everyone around her. Her spirit will continue to live on through the lives she touched, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave so freely.

Heather will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In addition to her parents, Heather is preceded in death by her son, Zane Dancer; brother, David Fee and sister, Terry Miller.

Heather is survived by her wife, Laura Gensert; daughters, LuLynn Dancer and Raven Dancer; and sister, Karen Steak.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
