James Mack Dancer, 87, was born on December 31, 1937, in
Boswell, Oklahoma, the son of Major Dewey and Ethel (Mitchell) Dancer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Dian (Holtzman) Dancer; brother, Ervin "Bud" Dancer and wife, Ruth and sister, Melba Oliver and husband, Paul.
James had lived in
Boswell, Oklahoma since 1937. He graduated from Boswell High School in 1956 and went on to pursue a bachelor's degree in business from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he was an active member of Sigma Gamma Paternity. Thereafter, James enlisted in the United States Army from 1960 – 1966 as a Sergeant First Class E-7 ranking. He married the love of his life, Dian Holtzman, on May 18, 1963, in Durant, Oklahoma. James was very active in his community as demonstrated by serving 46 years as a member of the Board of Director's with Southeast Electric Coop Board. He had many occupations in his life including farming peanuts, cattle rancher, teacher at Kemp Public Schools, transit driver for Little Dixie Community Action and truck (hauler) driver.
James enjoyed the simple things in life, his 4020 John Deere tractor, farming peanuts, weekend truck hauling, cattle ranching, John Wayne westerns, PBR Professional Bull Riding and let's not forget his favorite meals of red beans with corn bread topped off with a few shrimp from time to time.
James is survived by his children, Eddie Wayne Dancer and wife, Angie of Soper, OK; Dennis Shane Dancer and wife, Tammy of Lake Kiowa, TX, and Karissa Eastwood and husband, Buck of
Boswell, OK; thirteen grandchildren, Mason Dancer, Madison Dancer, Mitchell Dancer, Madelynn Dancer, Cobin Dancer, Kyle Eastwood, Kaytlin Lott, Stephanie Kitchens, Tina McDonnell, Greyson Browning, Riley Browning, Chase Falgout, and Jackson Falgout; ten great grandchildren, Makenzie Dancer, Logan Dancer, Ben Green, Kennedy Dancer, Heath Williams, Kamden Lott, Lawson Kitchens, Chisum Eastwood, Caysen Eastwood, Landary Falgout along with many other relatives and friends.
