Heather Oakley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clements Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc - Durham on Jan. 29, 2026.
Roxboro ~ Heather Aiken Oakley, 55, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Duke Regional Hospital. She was born in Durham County to William Hubert Aiken and Rebecca Nichols Aiken.

Heather's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her. She was selfless, caring, gentle, and humorous-someone who loved her family fiercely and always placed them at the center of her world. She found joy in life's simple pleasures: getting lost in a good book, trying new recipes, sipping iced coffee, and burning candles. She had a fondness for anything that brought a festive touch, whether flowers, Halloween decorations, or the magic of Christmas lights. Her profound love for animals was unmistakable. Her presence brought warmth and ease to every room she entered. Heather's spirit lives on in the values she instilled, the love she gave, and the memories held close by her children. Her legacy is one of kindness and quiet strength-one that will continue to shine in the lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, Heather is survived by her husband, Ralph Clinton Oakley; daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Oakley; son, Jackson Clinton Oakley; faithful companion, Buckwheat; sisters, Lori Aiken Bateman (Todd) and Karen Aiken Albright (John); niece, Jennifer Aiken; nephews, David Albright and Cole Bateman.

A funeral service will be held at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Aiken-Blalock Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 4pm-6pm at Clements Funeral Home in Durham, NC.

The family is gathering at her mother and father's home and are being assisted by Clements Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. in Durham. Online condolences may be sent to www.clementsfuneralservice.com.
