Heather Ann Simpson

Heather Ann Simpson, born on December 31, 1976, in Rochester, New York, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 48. Her journey through life was marked by a gentle strength, a creative spirit, and a profound appreciation for the simple beauty of the universe around her. She was not materialistic, but a minimalist. Valued friendships more than anything.

Heather's career as an Assembler/Quality Control at Stihl, Inc. not only showcased her diligent work ethic but also her commitment to contributing meaningfully to her workplace. Her colleagues remember her as a dedicated team member who exemplified kindness in her interactions.

An artist at heart, Heather, found joy in painting and arts and crafts. Her artistic endeavors were expressions of her inner world, reflecting her thoughtful and introspective nature. While she was not outwardly extroverted, Heather possessed a warm and welcoming demeanor that made those around her feel valued and cherished.

The tranquil shores of the beach were a source of solace and inspiration for Heather. She deeply appreciated their serenity and, in her youth, enjoyed the invigorating freedom of running along their sands. Though she did not attend church, Heather believed profoundly in the power of love, goodness, and kindness-principles she lived by each day.

Heather is preceded in death by her beloved daughter Carlie, her grandfather John Simpson, grandmother Marjorie Bittner, and her uncle Wayne Bittner. Also, her mother-in-law Connie Slinker. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son Brandon Slinker, former husband Dustin Slinker, mother Karen Simpson and Gerald Boston, father Scott Simpson, brother Shaun Simpson, paternal grandmother Laura Simpson. Aunts: Debra Sietmann and Rick Sietmann, Debbie Bittner, Cheryl and Richard Newberry. Uncles: Regis Bittner and Hans Pappenfuss. Cousins: Heidi Farrugia, Erik Pappenfuss, Dawn Justin, Paul Latragna, Lindsay Perez, and Tyler Bittner and more than a host of adoring family members and dear friends.

She was a well-liked person whose sweet and loving nature will dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Heather's life was a testament to the impact of quiet strength and unwavering grace, qualities that continue to inspire everyone she touched.

Heather Ann Simpson's loving memory will forever illuminate the hearts of those who loved her, guiding them with the enduring light of love and kindness she left behind.

Heather's family will gather for a Celebration of Life and are encouraged to join us at Pungo Sports Bar and Grill, 1776 Princess Ann Road, VA Beach, VA 23456 on Saturday August 16th 2025 from 2pm - 5pm.
