John Bailey Obituary

John W. Bailey Jr. was born on May 27, 1938, to the late John W. & Alphia Bailey Sr. He departed this life on March 4, 2026, at Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehabilitation Center in Saluda, VA.

John received his education through the Newport News Public Schools system, where he developed a strong foundation that would guide him throughout his life. He later dedicated many years of service to Colonial Williamsburg as a silversmith and eventually retired.

John was a man who loved to cook and took great pride in preparing meals for his family and friends. He also had a passion for singing. He enjoyed taking road trips to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida, creating lasting memories along the way.

He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice Banks Bailey, and his daughters, Deborah Langford and Rayne Jones Fultz. And three sisters, Iris Banks, Jean Bethea, Delores Harris, and one brother, Ronald Bailey.

He leaves many people to cherish his memory, his loving daughters, Mylissa Jennings (David), and Pam Langford. His loving grandchildren, Ebony Jennings, Jada Henry (Bobby), Breon Langford (Janeen), Emil Lanfgord (Keisha), Shanda Fultz, and Brandon Fultz, Sr. (Anika), Sheralyn Jones. His loving great-grandchildren Dream Davis, Bobby Henry, III, Janae Langford, Brea Langford, Brandon Fultz, Jr., Jamera Purdie, Raiven Jones, Brennon McCargo. And a loving brother, Warren Bailey Sr, (Josephine) and stepdaughters, Terronda Jenkins (Phillip) and Gail Taylor (Terry).

Services for John W. Bailey, Jr. will be held privately, honoring his wish for a quiet remembrance.
