Hector "Manny" Matos, a beloved family man and dedicated bus driver, passed away on January 28, 2026, in Kissimmee, Florida. Born on April 9, 1954, in Manhattan, New York, Manny was known for his humor, compassion, and unwavering love for family.
Retiring after over 20 years with Lynx Transportation, Manny served as a bus driver in both New York and Florida. His calm demeanor and strong will made him a favorite among coworkers and passengers alike. Manny's commitment to his profession was matched only by his dedication to his family. He found immense joy in celebrating milestones, proudly watching his children graduate, get married, and welcome their own children into the world.
Manny had a zest for life that was evident in his wide range of interests. He was an ardent fan of WWE wrestling and the New England Patriots, and he enjoyed staying active by going to the gym. Playing dominoes, listening to music from the 50s and 60s, and appreciating old cars were among his favorite pastimes. But perhaps his happiest moments were spent at the beach with his wife, Eloise Matos. Their long car rides were filled with joyful conversations and plans for the future, and playdates at the pool with their grandchildren were treasured experiences.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Eloise; his daughter, Kristina Matos; his son, Bryan Anthony Matos; his daughter, Samantha Eloise Matos-Perez; and his daughter, Nicole Matos-Torres. Manny was a cherished grandfather to Amber, Lylah, David Jr., Nathaniel, Isaiah, Elijah, Noah, and Zair. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers.
Manny was preceded in death by his parents, Andres Matos and Carmen Matos.
The memories that Manny created with his family, especially those anniversary vacations in June, will forever echo in their hearts. His legacy of kindness, humor, and passion for life will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
