Hedwig Ries Obituary

Hedwig was born to Emma and Otto Kilian in Flehingen, Germany, one of seven siblings. She emigrated to the United States in 1952 and wed Ernest on June 12, 1954. She lived for over 50 years in Glendale, and retired in 1986 as a dietician at the Brooklyn Home for Children in Forest Hills, Queens. Hedwig moved to Gainesville, Florida to be with her son Robert and family in December 2014. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Hedwig, the family requests a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital:https://www.stjude.org/ or Boys Town: https://www.boystown.org.
In addition to the services in Glendale, there will be a Mass in her memory on Saturday September 4, 2021 at Holy Faith Catholic Church in Gainesville, Florida.
