Heidi Jane Bergbower was born December 11,1969 and died April 7, 2025 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Earl and Ginny proudly adopted and raised three children, in which Heidi was the youngest. She was the little sister with tons of energy and so much fun. Her dad affectionately called her "Boo" which stayed with her into adulthood.
Heidi was blessed with a generous heart, a good soul and tremendous humor. These attributes helped her in her many restaurant and hospitality jobs. Also, she was strong and prided herself as a volunteer firefighter and went on to be a trained EMS. Firefighting was a shared passion with her husband, Don, and in fact, they got married in the fire station, in uniform. They went on to buy a farm in Deerbrook because Heidi loved nature and animals and enjoyed having many pets, so much so, they even rescued a couple of draft horses.
Heidi was a devoted wife and caregiver for Don during his illness. After Don's passing, Heidi's own health started to decline but she continued to help her mom by bringing her groceries and fun little gifts. She also redecorated her childhood home into a spiritual-spa-like theme. Heidi had many challenges in her life but she remained optimistic and loved the magic of stories and poems to offer hope to the human spirit.
Heidi is survived by her dear mom, Ginny Lang, sister, Laurie Lang Croasdale (Chris), brother, Joel Lang (Laurie), nieces and nephews: Jeremy Lang, Gillian Croasdale (Jon), Lucy Croasdale, Morgan Stroik, Victoria von Shrader (CJ) and Garrett Degner (Tamara) and 5 great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Bergbower; father, Earl Lang; niece, Samantha Lang; father and mother in-law, Rick Bergbower and Lajean Bolin.
Memorial service will be 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
