Heinrich Bartl, 86, of Fort Mitchell, AL died peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 19, 2026, with his daughter, Angelika by his side.
A private service of Remembrance will be held at a later date according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Bartl was born in Komotau, Germany on July 18, 1939, son of the late Hermann Bartl and Anna Schaecher Bartl.
He will be remembered by his daughter as a dedicated and hardworking dad. He was a skilled Apprentice Cabinet Maker when he lived in Germany, however he continued to use his skill to make cabinets for family and friends after he moved to the United States. Heinrich loved to fish. If there was a fish in the water around him, he was going to try and catch it. He traveled the world fishing and enjoying every minute of it too. Heinrich also loved just being outdoors and enjoying nature. He worked for Pan AM later United Airlines as a cargo handler, so he was a busy man, but he always made time for his family first and his passions second.
We find great comfort in knowing that dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever in our hearts. Thank you so much Dad and Opa.
Survivors include his daughter, Angelika Peace (Cedric); three grandchildren, Marquez Bartl, Felecia Blood and Silas Blood; great-granddaughter, Alaina Blood; Angelika’s mother, Orian Bartl; a sister, Erika Hall, Killeen, TX; several other family members and friends.
