Helen Faye Bowman

Helen Faye Reid Bowman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 after spending 89 years on this Earth.
Helen was born in Selma AL on March 13, 1936. She was a graduate on Oxford High School in Oxford AL.
She worked at F. W. Woolsworth while in high school and then served a short term working with the health department before going to work for Bell South. She retired after 28 years of service as a telephone operator.
She went on to open an in home day care center and ran it for 15 years before officially retiring, taking care of multiple teacher's children and other families within the community.
She served her Lord working in the TV ministry and as a Sunday School teacher at Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Prayer Warriors life group and prayed faithfully everyday for those with needs.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Ernest and Vasti Reid, three brothers Melvin D. Reid, Kenneth Reid and Douglas Reid along with one sister Star Saly. Waiting on her in heaven was also her husband, Howard E Bowman.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Bell and her two children, Jacob Bell and Leslie Bell. Her son William "Billy" Bowman and his wife Becca and their children, grandchildren and their families include Ashley Beaty, her husband Randy and their children Camden Beaty, Addyson Beaty and Cayson Beaty; Kelsie Arrington, her husband Terry and their children Dillon Arrington, Riley Estopare, Brooke Estopare and Cameron Arrington: Deanna Woodruff, her husband Johnny and their children Caden Woodruff, Mason Woodruff, Jackson Woodruff and Alora Woodruff; Chloe Bowman and Gretchen Bowman. She also has two great great grand daughters, Ellie Arrington and Paisley Nease. She is also survived by her sister Pat Cotton from Anniston AL.
Funeral services will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Thursday, December 18 at 1:00PM.
