Helen Mae Cupery

Helen Mae Cupery, age 91, of Waupun, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Waupun Christian Home.

Helen was born on March 17, 1934, in Waupun, Wisconsin, daughter of Clarence and Henrietta (Schouten) Klumpers. On September 5, 1957, she was united in marriage to Harvey Cupery at Alto Reformed Church. Helen had a diverse career, working at numerous factories for many years, and was a dedicated homemaker. She was known as the chief cook and bottle washer at Big Todd's Pizza, working alongside her son Todd.

Her hobbies and interests were rooted in love and care. Helen found joy in baking and spent countless hours making delicious treats for her loved ones. She enjoyed solving word search puzzles and took pleasure in cross stitch, creating beautiful pieces. Notably, she made blankets for all the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a testament to her nurturing spirit and her desire to spread warmth and love to her family. Above all, Helen cherished spending time with her family, creating lasting memories that they will hold dear. Her presence in their lives will be profoundly missed.

Helen is survived by her children, Barry (Linda) Cupery, Gail (Kevin) Harmsen, and Todd (Shae) Cupery; grandchildren, Nate Youngs, Katy (Kyle) Hildreth, Brooke (Bill) Kirchberg, Brianna (Kurtis) Leach, Joshua (Julia Schetter) Harmsen and Shelli Cupery; six great grandchildren; siblings, Marion Tolsma and Alton (Marilyn) Klumpers; sisters-in-law, Joan Mulder, Beverly O’Brien and Winifred Cupery. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Cupery; daughter, Valerie (James) Youngs; son, Kelly Cupery; brother, Kenneth (Jessie) Klumpers, sister, Gladys Klumpers; brothers-in-law, Bert Mulder, Eugene O’Brien and Darv Cupery.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, WI 53963 and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at First Reformed Church, 422 West Franklin Street, Waupun, WI 53963.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at First Reformed Church with Pastor Barry Lang officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.
