Helen Devin was one of the most genuine, caring and understanding person. She touched many lives of Billerica Memorial High School students in the most positive ways, her contributions to the Billerica School System / Billerica High will never be matched. I am so fortunate to have known such a wonderful, smart and caring individual as a former student. You will be missed and you are forever in my heart and memories.

My first memory of Helen Devlin was the first worship service I attended following my baptism and becoming a disciple of Christ. Helen saw me as I was finding a seat and rushed over to me to not only welcome me but to tell me, "You must come with me to meet my wonderful husband." That, of course was Lou, and I was so amazed by her pure joy in having me meet her wonderful husband. I had never seen a love like that and it has stayed with me all these 29 years since that the Devlins' marriage was one to be emulated. Much more, Helen showed her deep desire to be that true disciple, following Jesus and exuding His love for us. She lived every day showing us by her example how to obey His command to "Love one another" and she enjoyed it immensely.

I met Mrs.Devlin during my time as a server at Kennedy meadows, she always was sweet and always had a warm welcoming smile on her face. I will always remember and appreciate her words of encouragement and her kindness.

I met Helen when I moved to Lowell. I thought she was so warm and funny at church so I invited myself over to her house. She graciously had me over for dinner and we became fast friends.

I will always be grateful that I had the chance to know Helen. She was the kindest person I´ve ever known. I will miss playing Scrabble with her every week. Sending hugs to Lou and family.

The picture is of Helen as the Scarecrow in Kennedy Meadows production of the Wizard of Oz. She was wonderful!
