Helen Dixson
August 2, 1936 - January 23, 2026
With a heart full of love and memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Dixson on January 23, 2026, at the Home of the Good Shepard in Saratoga Springs. Helen was a beautiful woman who enjoyed a long life, she lived out her days with joy and resilience. She was born August 2, 1936, in Hartford, NY, to the late Harold and Irene (Stiles) Wilbur.
Helen was a woman of great strength and grace; she was the matriarch of her family always showing her children encouragement in whatever they did. As a young girl growing up, she excelled at playing the violin, achieving first chair during her time at Greenwich Central School. During school she was active in athletics even achieving sports person of the year. Following her graduation, she pursued a master's degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland. She went on to teach physical education at her alma mater Greenwich for over 30 years.
She was born a Wilbur but proudly wore the Dixson name after marrying the love of her life, Ronald D. Her devotion to her husband was evident in always helping him with his tax business and keeping the family on track. Alongside her husband she enjoyed wintering in Florida and travelling making unforgettable adventures and cherished memories. In her late years she enjoyed playing golf and pickle ball, always up for a competitive game.
Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Linda (Steve) Peluso of Clifton Park, and Ronna Dixson of Rexford, sister-in-law, Marlene Mclean, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Flynn Bros, Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834. Her funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, January 30, at 11 am at the funeral home. Spring burial will be held in the Greenwich Cemetery alongside her husband.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Greenwich Central School Scholarship Fund at 10 Gray Avenue, Greenwich, NY, 12834.
