I met Miss Helen a few years ago, through her daughter, my dear friend Candace Edmonds Bird. Candace was guest speaker at a program conducted in Miss Helen's church, and I had the honor and pleasure of sitting with Helen throughout the program. I was in awe of her energy and presence. Everyone seemed to know her, stopping her to converse, or just to give her a hug. While sitting with her, she regaled me with stories of her children, and her life in Wichita Falls. She so obviously loved her life, her family, and her Lord. I remember leaving Wichita Falls that day, feeling better for having met and spent time with Helen. She was a wonderful woman who welcomed me with open arms, and I'll never forget her for her kindness and zest for life.

Mrs. Helen was a neighbor growing up we lived on the same street. I would talk and laugh with her when she would come to visit my grandmother. She was kind spoke softly and yes she collected things. Rest easy
