Helen "Squeak" Farlin

Helen "Squeak" Farlin, 87, of Canton, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away at 5:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at The Loft in Canton, IL. She was born on December 15, 1935 in Peoria, IL to Mildred Louise Berry. Mildred later married Earl Willard Martin, who then adopted Helen as his own.
Squeak is survived by three children, Robin (Gary) Grindle of Mapleton, IL, Michael Farlin, and Jeanine (Paul) Gaumer of Canton, IL; seven grandchildren, Brent, Lance, David, Shane, Chase, Ally, and Donovan; seven great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way; one brother, Garey (Monica Mugavero) Martin; and one sister, Marie Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Squeak worked for Caterpillar, Inc. and retired after many years as an accounting clerk. She performed and did makeup for Corn Stock Theatre, Peoria Players Theatre, and Caterpillar Mixed Chorus for many years. She was an avid reader and loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the lights of her life.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Evangelical Free Church of Canton in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held the same day from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the church. Rev. Matt Spangler will officiate. A burial of ashes will be held at Parkview Cemetery Mausoleum in Peoria, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Evangelical Free Church in Canton, IL.
