Helen L. Gardner (Clark), a beloved mother, left this world on September 9, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on August 14, 1945, Helen dedicated her life to those she cherished, embodying a spirit of love, kindness, and unwavering support for her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Helen remained steadfast in her belief that family came first. Her heart overflowed with love, especially for her grandchildren, whom she adored fiercely. Each moment spent with Zach and Josh were treasured tender memories that they will hold forever. Helen’s nurturing nature extended beyond mere affection; it was a profound commitment to ensuring they felt valued and loved at every moment.
An avid gardener, Helen found solace and joy in tending to her plants, each bloom reflecting her vibrant spirit. Her ability to discover hidden treasures at garage sales added a playful element to her personality, turning ordinary finds into extraordinary moments filled with laughter and stories shared. She possessed an intuitive talent for putting everyone else before herself, often prioritizing the needs of others over her own desires.
Helen’s legacy is enriched by the enduring bonds she formed, particularly with her son, Michael (Kathy) Clark. Together, they shared countless cherished memories, nurturing a connection that will forever remain strong. Her best friend of 50 years, Carla Spearman, stood by her through thick and thin, a testament to Helen’s loyalty and the deep connections she fostered throughout her life.
Sadly, Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell K. and Eva L. Guthrie; her son, Jason Clark; and her bonus granddaughter, Brittany Healea. While their absence leaves a void, Helen's spirit, buoyed by her love and kindness, continues to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
As those she loved gather to celebrate her remarkable life, they reflect on the countless ways Helen enriched their lives. She was not just a mother, a grandmother, and a friend; she was a beacon of warmth and kindness, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire generations to come. Helen L. Gardner will be profoundly missed, but her love will remain a guiding force in the lives she touched.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at The Randall Residence and Hospice of Dayton for the care they provided her.
The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
