Mrs. Helen Magdalene Easter Gordon, age 79 of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Twelve Oak Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Gordon was born on November 22, 1946, in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Coy Ledford and Ida Marie Cagle Easter. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Donette Sykes and Chris; stepdaughters, Jennifer Gordon, Lisa Blum; stepson, Michael D. Gordon; five grandchildren and their spouses, Brad Roberson and Morgan, Dustin Roberson and Megan, Dylan Lovill, Phoenix Ballentine, Michael D. Gordon, III; two great-grandchildren; Aubrey Roberson, Zoey Roberson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Easter and Alicia, Mike Easter and Vivian; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Douglas Gordon; and her son, Donald Lee Lovill. Per Mrs. Gordon’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Interment will be held in Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina 27017. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Twelve Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassionate care shown to Mrs. Gordon. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
