Helen L. Graves

Helen L. Brown was born to Eva Thomas on May 20, 1937 in Hemingway, South Carolina.

She graduated from Palmetto High School in Mullins, S.C. Soon after, she met her lifelong partner Orrie A. Graves. Helen and Orrie were married on August 11, 1955 in South Carolina. They moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1960 to begin their family and had three children: Linnette, Anjanette, and Andre. Helen worked at Cleveland Clinic and later worked for Sears Robuck Co. until she retired.

Helen loved spending time with all her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking in her spare time. Helen was always willing to help family and be a listening ear.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orrie A. Graves; two daughters, Linnette McCown and Anjanette Graves, and son, Andre Graves; three brothers: James C. Brown, Ulysses Brown, and Stanley Williams.

Helen leaves to mourn brother, Jimmie Williams; grandson, Michael R. McCown (Charlette S. Glover), North Carolina; two great-granddaughters, Kaylin Jennette McCown and Mya Emani McCown; two great grandsons, Matthew Charles Glover-McCown and Michael Orrie Glover-McCown; three sisters-in-law: Mary Williams (late Stanley Williams), Norma Brown (late James C. Brown) and Avis Brown (late Ulysses Brown).
