Thomas Domitor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services on Mar. 1, 2026.
Thomas "Tom" Domitor, age 84, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at Hospice of the Western Reserve – David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio. He was kept comfortable and surrounded by love in his final hours, supported by the extraordinary care of the hospice team, for whom his family remains deeply grateful.

Born on October 2, 1941, and raised in Euclid, Ohio, Tom was the beloved son of Marion and Eugene Domitor. He is survived by his sisters, Lynda, Kathleen, Michelle, and Marcia, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was reunited with his cherished wife, Cheryl and his sisters, Marilyn and Mary Beth.

A proud graduate of St. Joseph High School and devoted Cleveland sports fan, Tom carried immense pride in his hometown roots and maintained lifelong friendships throughout the years.

He proudly served in the United States Army as a tank operator. Shortly before his passing, he was honored with a veteran recognition ceremony surrounded by family, a meaningful tribute reflecting his service and love of country.

Tom dedicated his life to his craft as a barber. He owned and operated Captain's Chair in Perry, Ohio, where he became not only a trusted barber but a steady presence in the lives of generations of families. Later, he moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he opened his own barbershop and continued building friendships and community through his work.

Tom was the devoted husband of Cheryl (Thomas) Domitor and the father of two daughters, Colleen and Tracy. Tracy lives with intellectual and developmental disabilities and is currently surrounded by strong support and thriving.

Tom never met a stranger. He valued friendship, worked hard, loved deeply, and remained proud of the life he built and the people who surrounded him. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched.

A gathering to honor Tom's life will be held at a later date. Out of love and consideration for Tracy, details will be shared once the family feels the time is right. Friends and loved ones will be invited to join in remembering him together at a Celebration of Life at a future time.
