Helen Virginia "Jenny" Humphress of Elk Horn, the daughter of the late Stevenson V. and Lavanna (Hack) Mudd, was born March 24, 1944 in Johnson County, Indiana and departed this life on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in Glasgow. She was 81 years of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Christie Chapel Church and was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and a babysitter and caregiver.

She enjoyed going to yard sales, church activities, reading and spending time with grandkids.

She united in marriage to William Malcolm Humphress, who passed away November 7, 2021.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother: Etta Mudd, Joyce Mudd and Carl Wade Mudd and a grandson: Michael Lynn Burress.

Survivors include three sons: Ronald Mark Humphress and wife Tammy of Knifley, Steven Keith Humphress and wife Jane of Campbellsville, and Michael Wade Humphress and wife Pam of Columbia.

Six grandchildren: Whitney Kemp and husband Nick, Eric Humphress, Chantay York and husband Cody, Adam Humphress and wife Jasmine, Matthew Humphress and wife Emilly, and Brook Bell and husband Levi; two step-grandsons: Allen and Justin Ford.

Nine great-grandchildren: Piper, Gabby, Gavin, Maxton, Easton, Roni, Kassi, Aspen and Adalynn.

Two sisters: Wilma Reeves and husband Norman and Sherry Hovious and husband Phillip.and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Helen Virginia "Jenny" Humphress will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial in the Harden Cemetery.

Bro. Steve Francis will be officiating.

Visitation from 5-8 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
