Helen Mildred Hunt, a beacon of creativity and warmth, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 103, surrounded by the love of her family in Peoria, Arizona. Born on June 23, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Helen's journey through life was marked by her friendly demeanor, adventurous spirit, and an unwavering commitment to her family and faith.
A proud graduate of Princeton High School in 1940, Helen's early life was filled with the promise of a bright future. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to the role of a housewife, bringing joy, comfort, and stability to her household. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, and she instilled in her children the values of love, kindness, and the importance of strong family bonds.
Helen's marriage to the late Jesse Hunt was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Carole Weinschenk, Paul Hunt, and Joyce Giammatteo. Helen's legacy continued to flourish through her seven cherished grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
A long-standing member of Unity Baptist Church in Harlansburg, PA, Helen's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her Christian beliefs guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, providing solace and strength to both herself and those around her.
Beyond her family and faith, Helen had a passion for the arts and community involvement. She was an active participant in the local Garden Club, where her creative touch could be seen in the beauty she cultivated. Helen's culinary skills were legendary, and her kitchen was often the heart of the home, filled with the aroma of lovingly prepared meals. Additionally, her talent for china painting left a legacy of beautiful, hand-painted pieces that will be treasured by her family for generations.
Helen's friends and family will remember her as the epitome of a life well-lived. Her friendly nature made her a joy to be around, and her adventurous spirit inspired those fortunate enough to know her. Helen's creative contributions, be it through her garden, her cooking, or her art, will continue to be celebrated be all who were touched by her grace and passion for life.
As we bid farewell to Helen Mildred Hunt, we reflect on a life that exemplified the virtues of compassion, creativity, and adventure. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Helen's journey on earth has concluded, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us for years to come.
