Helen Jones Obituary
Springfield - Helen Louise Jones, 86, of Jacksonville, IL, died Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 6, 1938, in Palmyra, the daughter of John C. and Bertha R. Stewart. Helen married Lawrence Jones, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Timmy P. Jones of Jacksonville. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, William, Mervin, and Alvin Stewart; and sisters, Twila McDaniel and Joann Jones.
Helen worked at the Elm City Center and was a member of the Harvest Temple Pentecostal Church in Jacksonville. She enjoyed housekeeping, word search puzzles, and walks with her son, Timmy.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 15, 2025, at Harvest Temple Pentecostal Church in Jacksonville, with burial to follow at Asbury Cemetery, near Lake Jacksonville. Timmy will meet friends at Harvest Temple for a visitation at 1:00 PM until the time of service. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
