Helen Krapf Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cecere-Fullerton Family Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 2, 2026.
Helen Krapf lived her 101 years with a spirit that never dimmed, energetic, inquisitive, and deeply devoted to the people she loved. Her long life was marked by friendship, adventure, and a remarkable ability to find joy in every season. From her earliest days, Helen embraced conversation and ideas. She joined her school's debating club and formed a cherished circle of six friends who called themselves "the sorority." Their bond endured for more than fifty years, meeting faithfully each month, a reflection of Helen's loyalty and the warmth she brought to every relationship. Helen's love of the outdoors shaped many of her happiest memories. As a young woman, she spent sun soaked days at Lake Ronkonkoma with her family, savoring the simple pleasure of being together from morning until dusk. Later, she ventured farther, camping across Quebec and the United States. She treasured the awe of Yellowstone, the majesty of the Grand Canyon, and the iconic beauty of Mount Rushmore, returning home with stories she delighted in sharing. Professionally, Helen served with pride as President of the Secretaries Association in the Baldwin Schools, earning the admiration of her colleagues. Retirement only expanded her horizons. She discovered a passion for golf and volunteered for many years at major tournaments at Bethpage Golf Course. She became a vibrant part of the Sandel Senior Center in Rockville Centre, where she built new friendships and remained active in the community she loved. Helen's zest for life never faded. She enjoyed reading, Mahjong, and Bridge, and even at eighty two she could be found boogie boarding, laughing in the same waves that had enchanted her since childhood. Her spirit stayed young, her generosity constant, and her enthusiasm contagious.
Helen is survived by her children Karen and Ken, and by her beloved grandchildren Heidi, Ken Jr., Josh, Francesca, and Gina. She was the proud great grandmother of Brayden, Harper, Lorenzo, Matteo, Viviana, Eli, Jude, Maelle, and Ezra, each of whom brought her immense joy. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved son, Raymond, and with the many loved ones who went before her.
