Helen Hearold Mitchell

Helen Hearold Mitchell, of Kilmarnock, VA entered into Glory on December 14, 2025, at the young age of 91.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Mervin Mitchell, her oldest daughter, Frances McGinnis, parents John and Alice Davis Hearold, six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Mitchell of Kilmarnock, Iris Treakle of White Stone; her son, Jim Mitchell of White Stone; five grandchildren, Reyne Moore (Mike) of Ohio, Samantha Somers (Thomas) of Reedville, VA, Daphne Brown of Maryland, John Mitchell (Elizabeth) of Mechanicsville, VA, and David Treakle of White Stone; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Thomas "Sonny" Hearold of Irvington, VA and Bud Hearold of Heathsville, VA, along with many nieces, nephews, close family members and friends.
Helen was a wonderful and loving mother who always put her family and the Lord first in her life. She was a proud member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and a member of the Lettice Lee Chapter of the Colonial Dames.
Per Helen's wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for contributions to be made to the Tangier Island Heath Center Foundation, P.O. Box 788, Irvington, VA 22480.
