Helen Myers Obituary
Helen Roberts Myers, age 91, of Elkin, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center in North Wilkesboro.
Helen was born Thursday, July 26th, 1934 , in Wilkes County to Grant and Mae Ingle Roberts .
Helen was well known through out the community and adored by everyone. She enjoyed planting flowers, going out to eat, but mostly loved being with her family.
In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by her husband Bill Rutledge, a son David Mathis, a daughter-in-law Melody Mathis
Survivors include: her children: Bobby Mathis and wife Lola, Terry Mathis and wife Shelia, Flora Wiles and husband Matt; grandchildren: Jonathan Mathis and wife Ruth Ann, Sherry Romaine and Husband Tim, Jamie Cox and husband Josh, Nichole Perry and Husband Adam, James Cothren, Lee Cothren and wife Erin; Several Step-Grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 1 at 1:00 PM at the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with David Spicer officiating. Interment will take place in Maple Spring United Methodist Church Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Elkin Funeral Service.
