Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation ServicesHelen Marie Smetzer Phillips, age 73, of Waco, passed away November 18, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House. She was born February 21, 1952, in Franklin County, PA, to the late George Ervin and Betty Jane Ebersole Smetzer.
Helen was a member of Second Baptist Church. She worked for CleveMont Mills and Red Valve. Helen enjoyed playing Bingo and traveling. She also had an extensive collection of frogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ray Phillips; and siblings, Robert Smetzer, George Smetzer, Dave Abersole, and Danny Smetzer.
Survivors include her fiancé, Randy Kee; children, Roger Naugle (Pam), of Chambersburg, PA, Wanda Shull (Richard), of Shelby, Crystal Threatt, of Cherryville, and Teresa Threatt, of Cherryville; siblings, Charlie Smetzer, George Smetzer, Jr., Jim Smetzer, Richie Smetzer, Ricky Smetzer, Mark Smezter, John Smetzer, Paul Smetzer, Linda Smetzer, and Beverly Atherton; grandchildren, Chelsey Ross, Brianna Strickland, Michael Strickland, Miranda Gunn, Jessica Gunn, Brandon Shull (Courtney), Dillion Shull (Jenna), Nicklas Naugle (Nichole), and Tyler Naugle (Rachael); numerous great-grandchildren; and multiple other relatives.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Second Baptist Church, with Rev. Matt Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.
