Elisabeth “Libby” Adele Bolick Lovingood, age 90, of Cherryville, passed away November 13, 2025, at Testa Family Hospice House. Elisabeth was born on June 12, 1935, in Gaston County, to the late Ellis Anderson and Lula Parks Bolick.
Libby was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was actively involved with many church groups, including WELCA, Bible Study, and the Bereavement Committee. She was the Office Manager for several medical doctors in Cherryville and was an avid Bridge player. Mrs. Lovingood loved her family more than anything else.
In addition to her parents, Elisabeth was preceded in death by her sister, Drusilla Huffstickler.
Survivors include her son, William “Bill” Lovingood, of Lincolnton; daughter, Carolyn Lovingood, of Taylorsville; brother, Ellis Anderson Bolick, Jr., of Hickory; grandchildren, Joey Lovingood, Michael Lovingood (Kristen), Mary Guthrie, and Robert Deal; great-grandchildren, Aiden Guthrie, Parks Guthrie, Mollie Guthrie, Kyler Deal, and Caleigh Burnett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, November 17, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. G. Scott Homesley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM, prior to the service at the church.
A private family burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church Columbarium, at a later date.
